Zhiliang Wu et al.

Summary: Metal-organic framework (MOF) and covalent organic framework (COF) hybrid materials, with their complementary advantages and suitable band gap, have attracted significant attention in photocatalysis research. The formation of a novel sunflower-like strong pi-pi bond stacking MOF@COF hybrid platform was achieved by introducing a preformed synthetic COF into the MOF precursor solution and modulating its morphology. The synthesized MOF on the COF hybrid platform exhibited excellent catalytic activity in the photocatalytic CO2 reduction reaction under simulated sunlight, with impressive CH4 yieldrate, apparent quantum yield, and methane selectivity.

Implanting MWCNTs in BiCu-MOFs to enhance electrocatalytic CO2 reduction to formate

Yan-Hong Zou et al.

Summary: This paper reports a novel BiCu bimetallic organic framework composite catalyst (SU-101-Cu@2.5C) that was successfully used for the efficient synthesis of formate via electrochemical CO2 reduction (ECR) through in-situ modification with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). The results show that MWCNTs facilitate rapid electron transfer, while Bi acts as the active center of ECR and Cu optimizes the overall electronic structure, effectively improving the efficiency of ECR. This work provides new ideas for the development of bimetallic MOFs with efficient ECR.

High-efficient carbon dioxide-to-formic acid conversion on bimetallic PbIn alloy catalysts with tuned composition and morphology

Xueliang Sun et al.

Summary: In this study, single metal Pb, In and bimetallic PbIn catalysts were prepared and used for aqueous CO2 electroreduction. The bimetallic PbIn catalysts showed better catalytic performance than single metal catalysts, with the Pb7In3 catalyst exhibiting the highest formic acid faradaic efficiency. The excellent performance of Pb7In3 catalyst may come from its larger electrochemical active surface area, lower charge-transfer resistance, and the synergistic effect of Pb and In in the catalyst.
