Modeling investigation of soiling effect on solar photovoltaic systems: New findings

Bouchra Laarabi et al.

Summary: This research focuses on the impact of pollution on solar energy systems, specifically the influence of dust on the transmittance of glass samples in Tamil Nadu, India. A comparative analysis is also conducted between this study and a previous one conducted in Morocco. The study concludes that pollution is a complex phenomenon affected by various variables such as location, time, and measurements.

Effect of organics on the adhesion of dust to PV panel surfaces under condensation

Pengluan Huang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the factors and mechanisms of dust adhesion to PV panels. It found that human activities were the main reason for the difference in dust composition, especially organic content. Higher organic content and longer condensation cycles were found to enhance adhesion strength. The presence of organic films increased the contact area at the adhesion interface and formed hydrogen bonds with the PV panel surface, increasing adhesion strength.

Investigation on particle deposition criterion and dust accumulation impact on solar PV module performance

Weiping Zhao et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the particle deposition mechanism on the solar PV module surfaces, proposed an energy-based particle deposition criterion, and established a dust accumulation numerical model. The effects of wind speed, humidity, and particle size on the dust accumulation characteristics were simulated, with results showing that dust accumulation significantly impacts PV transmittance. The dust accumulation amount decreases first and then increases with increasing wind speed, while it increases linearly with increasing humidity.
