Recent advances of polypyrrole conducting polymer film for biomedical application: Toward a viable platform for cell-microbial interactions

Heterogeneous stacking strategy towards carbon aerogel for thermal management and electromagnetic interference shielding

Summary: Facing the challenges of heat dissipation and electromagnetic interference in electronics, carbon modified polymer-based composites with significant EMI shielding and thermal management performance were developed. A carbon heterogeneous stacking strategy was proposed to construct all carbon aerogels for modifying epoxy resin, resulting in a hybrid 3D structure of reduced graphene oxide-carbon nanotube-vertical edge-rich graphene with covalent bonding. The designed microstructure of the rGO-CNT-VG skeleton provided plenty of seamlessly bonded heterogeneous interfaces, leading to enhanced electromagnetic microwave attenuation and conversion, and ideal EMI shielding performance.

Lightweight chitosan-derived carbon/rGO aerogels loaded with hollow Co1-xNixO nanocubes for superior electromagnetic wave absorption and heat insulation

Summary: In this study, a chitosan-derived carbon/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) aerogel loaded with hollow ZIF-67 nanocubes (CG3) was constructed for high-performance electromagnetic wave absorption. The CG3 aerogel exhibited an ultra-broad effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 9.5 GHz and a minimal reflection loss (RLmin) of -53.3 dB. Furthermore, by converting the hollow ZIF-67 nanocubes into hollow Co1-xNixO nanocubes (CG4), the CG4 aerogel demonstrated anisotropic electromagnetic wave absorption and heat insulation performance, with an EAB of 8.7 GHz, RLmin of -52.3 dB, and thermal conductivity of 0.057 W m-1 K-1.

Compensation strategy for constructing high-performance aerogels using acrylamide-assisted vacuum drying and their use as water-induced electrical generators

Anisotropic Polyimide/Cellulose Nanofibril Composite Aerogels for Thermal Insulation and Flame Retardancy

Summary: In this study, lightweight and anisotropic PI/CNF composite aerogels with excellent thermal insulation and flame retardancy were successfully prepared using unidirectional drying and freeze drying methods. The composite aerogels exhibited a tube-like structure along the axial direction and a honeycomb-like pore structure along the radial direction, resulting in superior mechanical and elastic properties. The addition of CNF reduced the thermal conductivity of the composite aerogels. The composite aerogels also showed significant temperature reduction and flame retardant performance, making them promising for potential applications in the aerospace industry.

Improving the comprehensive properties of chitosan-based thermal insulation aerogels by introducing a biobased epoxy thermoset to form an anisotropic honeycomb-layered structure
