Multi-layer 3D Chirality and Double-Helical Assembly in a Copper Nanocluster with a Triple-Helical Cu-15 Core

Guanglei Dong et al.

Summary: This study presents an atom-precise 18-copper nanocluster (Cu18H) with a pseudo D-3-symmetrical triple-helical Cu-15 core. Cu18H exhibits unique multi-layered 3D chirality and forms an infinite double-stranded helix through intra-strand and inter-strand interactions. The hierarchical assemblies of Cu18H not only resemble the structure of DNA but also exhibit crystallization-induced emission enhancement and aggregation-induced emission enhancement effects, as well as efficient catalysis of electron transfer reactions.

Controllable Assembly of Mo36VI-Based Polyoxometalate Porous Frameworks with Silver Ions and Lung Cancer Cell-Specific Cytotoxicity

Hui-Min Zeng et al.

Summary: The controllable construction of pure inorganic polyoxometalate (POM) zite materials with well-defined secondary building units (SBUs) is challenging. In this work, three distinct POM porous framework compounds 1-3 based on specific SBUs and transition-metal Ag linkers were self-assembled, providing valuable experience for synthetic chemists to obtain more interesting materials. Compound 1-3 exhibit cell type-specific, dose-dependent, and pH-sensitive anticancer behavior, making them promising anticancer agents for lung cancer therapy.

Solvent-driven crystal-crystal transformation and morphology change in a 2D layered inorganic POM-based framework

Hui-Min Zeng et al.

Summary: This paper investigates a pure 2D inorganic POM-based framework that undergoes a single crystal to single crystal conversion when soaked in organic solvents miscible to water, resulting in a more densely packed identical framework and the formation of nanowires. The change in morphology is closely linked to the surface tension of water, with lower surface tension achieved through dehydration promoting the formation of nanowires, as revealed through SXRD, PXRD, SEM, TGA, and EIS.
