Differences in toll-like receptor ligand-induced cytokine concentrations before and after solid organ transplantation: A prospective, observational cohort study in a clinical setting

Prediction of herpes virus infections after solid organ transplantation: a prospective study of immune function

Summary: This study aimed to determine the incidence of positive herpes virus PCR tests during the first year post-transplantation and assess whether a model including immune function could predict subsequent positive tests. The cumulative incidence of positive tests was 36.6%, and the prediction model had an AUC of 77%. Risk scores based on the model allowed for identification of recipients with higher risk.

The Induced Immune Response in Patients With Infectious Spondylodiscitis: A Prospective Observational Cohort Study

Summary: This study aimed to analyze the immune response in patients with infectious spondylodiscitis during and after antibiotic therapy, as well as its relationship with the causative pathogen and disease dissemination. The study found that the induced immune response in patients was generally lower at baseline, but increased after antibiotic treatment. After infection clearance, most of the cytokine concentrations returned to the reference range. No significant differences in the induced immune response were found based on the causative pathogen or disease dissemination.
