Auxin promotes hypocotyl elongation by enhancing BZR1 nuclear accumulation in Arabidopsis

Zipeng Yu et al.

Summary: This study reveals the molecular mechanism by which auxin promotes hypocotyl elongation by enhancing BZR1 nuclear accumulation via MPK3/MPK6-regulated GRF4 protein stability. Auxin-induced hypocotyl elongation is dependent on BZR1, a core BR signaling component. Auxin promotes BZR1 nuclear accumulation in hypocotyl cells, a process dependent on MPK3 and MPK6.

TMK-based cell-surface auxin signalling activates cell-wall acidification

Wenwei Lin et al.

Summary: The plant hormone auxin controls various growth processes in plants by regulating cell expansion through activating plasma membrane H+-ATPase through interactions with transmembrane kinase (TMK) auxin-signalling proteins, promoting cell-wall acidification and hypocotyl cell elongation in Arabidopsis.

Some New Methodological and Conceptual Aspects of the Acid Growth Theory for the Auxin Action in Maize (Zea mays L.) Coleoptile Segments: Do Acid- and Auxin-Induced Rapid Growth Differ in Their Mechanisms?

Malgorzata Polak et al.

Summary: A re-examination of the acid growth theory of auxin-induced growth revealed that the cuticle plays a crucial role in the lack of correlation between IAA-induced growth and medium acidification. It was also found that acid- and IAA-induced growth are additive processes, which operate through different mechanisms. The dose-response curves for IAA-induced growth and proton extrusion were bell-shaped, with a peak at 10(-4) M over 10 hours, supporting the acid growth theory of auxin action.

De novo transcriptome analysis provides insights into formation of in vitro adventitious root from leaf explants of Arnebia euchroma

Jyoti Devi et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify transcripts involved in in vitro induction and formation of adventitious roots using Arnebia euchroma leaves. The results revealed key genes expressed during in vitro adventitious root formation in A. euchroma and their variations in different stages. These findings will be helpful in understanding key regulators of in vitro adventitious root development in Arnebia species.

Comparative transcriptomic analysis uncovers conserved pathways involved in adventitious root formation in poplar

Jie Luo et al.

Summary: The study used comparative transcriptomic approaches to uncover shared gene expression patterns during AR formation in two poplar species, revealing the importance of hormone signaling pathways and MAPK signaling pathways in this process. The results suggest finely tuned regulation of AR formation by integrating multiple biological processes.
