Rotating traversable wormholes in Einstein-Maxwell theory

Gerard Clement et al.

Summary: Traversable wormhole solutions in the Kerr-Newman-NUT spacetime require exotic matter violating the null energy condition. However, a notable exception is found in the form of the overcharged Kerr-Newman-NUT solution, which is sourced by two counter-rotating tensionless cosmic strings - the Misner-Dirac strings. These strings violate the null energy condition and give rise to a geodesically complete, traversable wormhole spacetime. The presence of an ergoregion but absence of superradiance is observed, and the absence of closed circular null geodesics is demonstrated.

New form of all black holes of type D with a cosmological constant

Jiri Podolsky et al.

Summary: We present an improved metric form of the complete family of exact black hole spacetimes of algebraic type D, including any cosmological constant. The new improved metric simplifies and explicitly expresses the key functions and enables the study of various physical and geometrical properties. It also shows the reduction to familiar forms of other spacetimes by setting specific parameters to zero.

Plebanski-Demianski solutions with dynamical torsion and nonmetricity fields

Sebastian Bahamonde et al.

Summary: In this study, we construct Plebanski-Demianski stationary and axisymmetric solutions with two expanding and double principal null directions in the framework of Metric-Affine gauge theory of gravity. We explore the black hole configurations characterized by various physical parameters and reveal the conditions under which the torsion and nonmetricity tensors provide dynamical contributions and their effects on the geometry of space-time.

Gravitational instantons with conformally coupled scalar fields

Jose Barrientos et al.

Summary: The paper presents novel regular Euclidean solutions to General Relativity with Maxwell and conformally coupled scalar fields. The authors analyze the metrics of the Eguchi-Hanson and Taub-NUT families and solve the field equations analytically. The solutions have nontrivial topology and the authors compute the Euler characteristic explicitly. They also investigate the modifications to the solutions in the presence of higher-curvature corrections that respect conformal invariance.

Summary: This study demonstrates the elimination of conical singularities from a rotating C-metric spacetime by using a swirling gravitational universe and spin-spin interaction for acceleration. The charged case embedded in a swirling universe is also analyzed.

Black holes in a swirling universe

Marco Astorino et al.

Summary: We propose a new solution in Einstein's general relativity, which describes a Schwarzschild black hole in a rotating universe. By utilizing the unexplored Lie point symmetry of the Ernst equations, we analytically construct this solution. This approach allows embedding any given solution into a rotating background, different from the NewmanUnti-Tamburino type. We analyze the physical properties, ergoregions, and geodesics of the new metric, which is regular outside the event horizon and possesses well-defined thermodynamics. Finally, we consider the Kerr generalization.

Magnetized Reissner-Nordstrom-Taub-NUT spacetime and microscopic entropy

Haryanto M. Siahaan

Summary: The paper presents a novel solution describing magnetized spacetime outside an electrically charged object with NUT parameter. The solution is obtained by applying Ernst magnetization to the Reissner-Nordstrom-Taub-NUT spacetime as a seed. After discussing some physical aspects, it is shown that the extremal entropy of a magnetized Reissner-Nordstrom-Taub-NUT black hole can be reproduced using the Cardy formula.

Magnetized Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT spacetimes

Masoud Ghezelbash et al.

Summary: A new class of exact solutions in the Einstein-Maxwell theory was discovered by applying the Ernst magnetization process to Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT spacetimes. The solutions were found to be regular everywhere, and quasilocal conserved quantities, the corresponding Smarr formula, and the first law of thermodynamics were also identified for these spacetimes.

Plebanski-Demianski solutions in quadratic gravity with conformally coupled scalar fields

Adolfo Cisterna et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that the Plebanski-Demianski spacetime remains a solution of general relativity when supplemented with both a conformally coupled scalar theory and quadratic curvature corrections. The research also involves obtaining new hairy black hole solutions and analytically extending specific metric spacetimes to produce healthy asymptotically AdS wormhole configurations.

Topological terms and the Misner string entropy

Luca Ciambelli et al.

Summary: The research utilizes the method of topological renormalization to study the thermodynamics of anti-de Sitter spacetimes, focusing on the entropy contribution of Misner strings. It is found that this method correctly explains the physical quantities in the parity-preserving sector of the theory and further discusses the holographic consequences of adding Chern-Pontryagin topological invariant to the bulk action.
