Identification of Two Eosinophil Subsets in Induced Sputum from Patients with Allergic Asthma According to CD15 and CD66b Expression

Elena Curto et al.

Summary: This study identified two subsets of eosinophils (E1 and E2) in induced sputum samples using flow cytometry, and found that their distribution and correlation varied among different types of asthma patients.

Enhanced IL-2 in early life limits the development of TFH and protective antiviral immunity

Summary: Antibodies play a crucial role in long-term protection after infection or vaccination, and are essential for protecting the body from reinfection. T follicular helper cell (T-FH)-dependent antibody responses are critical for long-term immunity, and early compromise may result in infection and disease. In a murine model, a mechanism suppressing early-life T-FH generation was identified, and neutralization of IL-2 was shown to enhance antibody-mediated immunity and reduce disease severity upon reinfection.
