The PRIDE database resources in 2022: a hub for mass spectrometry-based proteomics evidences

Yasset Perez-Riverol et al.

Summary: PRIDE is the largest data repository of mass spectrometry-based proteomics data in the world, with around 500 datasets submitted per month. In addition to continuous improvements in data pipelines and infrastructure, PRIDE has developed the Spectra Archive and MAGE-TAB file format to enhance sample metadata annotation and access to mass spectra.

Golgin Imh1 and GARP complex cooperate to restore the impaired SNARE recycling transport induced by ER stress

Yi-Hsun Wang et al.

Summary: Accumulation of misfolded proteins in the ER leads to the unfolded protein response (UPR), but its impact on the Golgi is not well understood. This study reveals that ER stress increases the phosphorylation of golgin Imh1, which is involved in the recycling of SNAREs through the GARP complex. The findings also provide insights into the homeostatic response for restoring Golgi function in response to ER stress.

Ciliary membrane, localised lipid modification and cilia function

Priya Dutta et al.

Summary: Cilium, a tiny cellular appendage critical for cell signalling and physiology, has various receptors that determine cell behavior. This article examines the potential role of targeted changes in lipid composition in controlling receptor localization and function in cilia, and how it contributes to cilia growth and signaling.

Endocytosis of peroxiredoxin 1 links sterile inflammation to immunoparalysis in pediatric patients following cardiopulmonary bypass

Summary: It was found that the release of Prdx1 after cardiac surgery could compromise immune competence, leading to increased susceptibility to infections. By preventing the binding of Prdx1 to macrophages, the induction of IL-10 and endotoxin tolerance could be reduced.
