A novel bone cement injector augments Chinese osteoporotic lumbar pedicle screw channel: a biomechanical investigation

Summary: This study aimed to create and test a series of pedicle injectors with different numbers of holes for the augmentation of pedicle screw among osteoporotic lumbar pedicle channel. The results showed that 4-hole and 6-hole sheath augmented pedicle screws had similar effects to the straight pore injector. However, the 8-hole injector had relatively lower pull-out strength, and the straight pore injector had risks of cement leakage and solidification near the screw head.
