Nanopore-rich NiFe LDH targets the formation of the high-valent nickel for enhanced oxygen evolution reaction

Qunlei Wen et al.

Summary: Nanopore-rich NiFe LDH (PR-NiFe LDH) nanosheets were proposed as a catalyst for enhancing the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity and stability. By creating abundant unsaturated Ni sites and decreasing the migration distance of protons, the catalyst promotes the formation of high-valent active sites. The unique structure also improves the stability of OER. The optimized PR-NiFe LDH catalysts exhibit excellent electrocatalytic performance and show good stability in anion exchange membrane (AEM) water electrolyzer devices.

Synergetic regulation of CeO2 modification and (W2O7)2- intercalation on NiFe-LDH for high-performance large-current seawater electrooxidation

Mingzhe Li et al.

Summary: NiFe LDH with CeO2 modification and (W2O7)(2-)intercalation is synthesized for efficient oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in seawater electrolysis. The catalytic material only requires 353.8 and 386.7 mV to achieve a large current density of 1000 mA·cm(-2) in 1 M KOH and alkaline natural seawater, respectively.
