Smoke-Free Sports in The Netherlands: Why Most Sports Clubs Have Not Adopted an Outdoor Smoke-Free Policy

Summary: This study explored the perceptions of key stakeholders at different Dutch sports clubs regarding the adoption of an outdoor smoke-free policy. Most respondents were in favor of adopting an outdoor SFP, especially considering the protection of children from the harmful effects of smoking. However, they also foresaw practical problems such as impacts on social functioning, compliance and enforcement issues, and conflicts with smokers' interests.
