Reduced graphene oxide/ionic liquid composites with tunable interlayer spacing for improved charge/discharge kinetics in supercapacitors

Ayse Saliha Korkut et al.

Summary: Researchers optimize charge storage performance in RGO-based supercapacitors by tuning micropore structure and combining RGOs with room temperature ionic liquids during electrode processing. This approach hinders the stacking of RGO sheets into graphitic structures, forming ion transport channels and improving capacitance and charging kinetics.

Effect of lattice strain on structure, morphology, electrical conductivity and magneto-optical and catalytic properties of Ni-doped Mn3O4 nano-crystallites synthesized by microwave route

G. Raja et al.

Summary: Ni-doped Mn3O4 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using a simple one-pot microwave combustion method, and were characterized using various techniques. The study found that the luminescence amplitude of the particles increased with increasing Ni concentration. Additionally, the study determined the effect of Mn3O4 doped with Ni on the color change of 4-nitrophenol from yellow to colorless.

Fabrication of high-performance symmetric supercapacitor of graphene electrodes by tuning their electrochemical properties

Sreelakshmi Rajeevan et al.

Summary: In this study, highly efficient rGO/PVDF composite electrodes were synthesized by tuning the concentration of PVDF as a binder. The composite electrodes exhibited a symmetric elliptical-shaped voltammogram and quasi-triangular-shaped GCD curves, indicating excellent charging-discharging stability. The fabricated symmetric EDLC supercapacitor using the PvG2 electrode showed ideal supercapacitor behavior with high symmetry. The highest power and energy densities were achieved for the supercapacitors, and a high capacitance retention and coulombic efficiency were observed after 5000 cycles.

Analysis of the Charging Current in Cyclic Voltammetry and Supercapacitor's Galvanostatic Charging Profile Based on a Constant-Phase Element

Changsuk Yun et al.

Summary: This study investigated the charging current in cyclic voltammetry and the galvanostatic charging/discharging behavior using a controversial constant-phase element (CPE). Results demonstrated curved charging/discharging behavior and lower voltage during longer charging periods, showing the effectiveness of using Fourier transform and CPE model in electrochemical data analysis.
