A Robust Ratiometric Fluorescent Sensor Based on Covalent Assembly of Dipeptides and Biomolecules for the High-Sensitive and Optosmart Detection of Pyrethroids

Xuecheng Zhu et al.

Summary: In this study, two well-defined supramolecular peptide nanoparticles were synthesized by covalently self-assembling diphenylalanine (FF) or C-terminal amidated diphenylalanine (DPA) with genipin, and used for the detection of pyrethroids. The DPA-genipin nanoparticles (PNPs) exhibited excellent dual-emission fluorescence characteristics, tunable particle size, and robust photostability. Furthermore, PNPs showed a ratiometric fluorescence response to lambda-cyhalothrin (LC) with a distinct green-to-red color transition, enabling sensitive and on-site visualization of LC in agricultural products.

A highly efficient molecularly imprinted fluorescence sensor for assessing whole wheat grains by the rapid and sensitive detection of alkylresorcinols

Yangyang Wen et al.

Summary: A highly efficient fluorescence sensing platform (CDs@MIP) was developed for rapid and sensitive analysis of alkylresorcinols (ARs), which can differentiate whole wheat foods from refined wheat foods. The platform utilized carbon dots as fluorophores and a molecularly imprinted polymer coating containing C21:0 AR as template molecules. The sensor showed a wide linear range and an ultralow detection limit for C21:0 AR, and successfully detected ARs in commercial whole-wheat foods.

Ionic liquid-enhanced lemon biomass carbon dots with sustainable use in bionic antibody microspheres for urea capture and ethyl carbamate inhibition

Chen Meng et al.

Summary: In this study, ionic liquid-modified carbon dots encapsulated in bionic antibodies (IL-modified CDs@BAs) were synthesized at room temperature using a one-pot green synthesis method. The IL-modified CDs@BAs exhibited enhanced fluorescence intensity by using imidazole ILs and lemon as modifiers and sources. The resulting IL-modified CDs@BAs showed good selectivity and capture of urea, leading to fluorescence quenching by template-binding. The IL-modified CDs@BAs system also demonstrated reproducibility after multiple uses, reducing the economic cost.

Magnetically driven nanorobots based on peptides nanodots with tunable photoluminescence for rapid scavenging reactive a-dicarbonyl species and effective blocking of advanced glycation end products

Xin-Yue Yuan et al.

Summary: This study developed magnetically driven nanorobots by combining photoluminescent β-alaninehistidine (β-AH) nanodots and superparamagnetic nanoparticles (SPNPs) for sensitive determination and fast trapping of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) in food processing. The nanorobots demonstrated excellent biosafety and high binding capacity of 80.12 mg g (-1) with ultrafast equilibrium time. By manipulating the external magnetic field, the nanorobots achieved rapid removal of AGEs, offering a promising strategy for accurate detection and efficient removal of hazards.

Following the light: 3D-printed COF@poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) dual emissive composite with response to polarity and acidity

Marcos Martinez-Fernandez et al.

Summary: A new organic framework material functionalized with Nile Red chromophore units has been successfully synthesized. The exfoliation experiment shows that colloids with dual emission can be obtained in water and water/organic media, which can be used for polarity and acidity ratiometric sensors. Moreover, free-standing polymeric films that maintain the optical properties of the exfoliated material have been prepared using an in situ exfoliation method in methacrylic monomers. Finally, tailor-made dual emissive composites have been fabricated using 3D liquid crystal display additive manufacturing.
