Convergence Analysis of a New Implicit Iterative Scheme and Its Application to Delay Caputo Fractional Differential Equations

Austine Efut Ofem et al.

Summary: This article introduces a new three-step implicit iterative method for approximating fixed points of a certain class of pseudocontractive-type operators. The strong convergence results of the new iterative procedure are derived. Several examples are provided to validate the assumptions in the main result. Finally, the new method is applied to solve a fractional delay differential equation in the sense of Caputo, improving and generalizing the results of many prominent authors in the existing literature.

Approximating the solution of a nonlinear delay integral equation by an efficient iterative algorithm in hyperbolic spaces

Austine Efut Ofem et al.

Summary: In this article, we propose a modified AH iteration process in Hyperbolic spaces to approximate the fixed points of mappings enriched with condition (E). We study the data dependence result of the proposed iteration process for almost contraction mappings. Additionally, we obtain new strong and M-convergence results of the proposed iteration algorithm for the class of mappings enriched with the condition (E). We also demonstrate the effectiveness of our results over existing ones in literature through numerical examples. Finally, we apply our main results to solve a nonlinear integral equation with two delays.

Multi-Cluster Flocking Behavior Analysis for a Delayed Cucker-Smale Model with Short-Range Communication Weight

Qiao Zhengyang et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the multi-cluster flocking behavior of a Cucker-Smale model involving delays and a short-range communication weight. The authors provide the sufficient condition for the multi-cluster flocking emerging by constructing dissipative differential inequalities of sub-ensembles together with Lyapunov functional methods. The coupling strength among agents and initial threshold value determine the multi-cluster flocking behavior of the delayed Cucker-Smale model.

A novel iterative scheme for solving delay differential equations and nonlinear integral equations in Banach spaces

Godwin Amechi Okeke et al.

Summary: We propose a three-step iteration process for finding the common fixed points of nonexpansive mapping and strongly pseudocontractive mapping in a real Banach space. We weaken the necessity of a condition imposed by a previous study on the mappings, and our proposed iterative scheme achieves strong convergence to the common fixed point using a simple and different method. Numerical results also demonstrate that our proposed iterative scheme converges faster than some existing ones. Furthermore, we apply our proposed iterative process in solving mixed type Volterra-Fredholm functional nonlinear integral equations and delay differential equations.

Observer-based feedback stabilization of a reaction-diffusion equation with variable coefficients and boundary input delay

Hong-Li Zhu et al.

Summary: This paper considers the stabilization issues of a reaction-diffusion equation with variable coefficients and boundary input delay. An observer is designed to estimate the system state based on its output, and a dynamic feedback controller is then developed to account for the time delay in control. By selecting appropriate kernel functions, the exponential stability of the closed-loop system is proved. The approach in this study is mainly based on the idea of 'feedback equivalence', establishing a connection between the closed-loop system and a stable system through equivalence transformations.

Numerical solution of two-point nonlinear boundary value problems via Legendre-Picard iteration method

M. Tafakkori-Bafghi et al.

Summary: The present work introduces an effective numerical method, called the Legendre-Picard iteration method, for solving two-point nonlinear boundary value problems. The method employs the Picard iteration technique, shifted Legendre polynomials, and Legendre-Gauss quadrature formula to reduce the boundary value problem to an iterative formula and calculate the integrals of the shifted Legendre polynomials. Additionally, a vector-matrix scheme is constructed to reduce the CPU time of the method.
