Interconnected δ-MnO2 nanosheets anchored on porous carbon derived from reed residue waste as high-performance electrode for supercapacitor

Peipei Li et al.

Summary: Coupling with carbon materials and creating synergies of individual counterparts is crucial for improving the electrochemical properties of MnO2 for supercapacitor electrodes. In this study, useful chemicals were extracted from giant reed, and the remaining reed residue waste was used to prepare biomass porous carbon. A pompon mum-like C/MnO2 nanocomposite was obtained through a reduction reaction. The synthesized C/MnO2 (1 h) nanocomposite showed excellent electrochemical performances, high specific capacitance, good rate capability, and superior cycling stability.

Synthesis of MnO2 nanostructure and its electrochemical studies with ratio optimization of ZnO

Manish Kumar Gupta et al.

Summary: The study focuses on utilizing hydrothermally generated nanostructured MnO2 to produce MnO2/ZnO-based nanocomposite with different weight ratios (3:7, 5:5, 7:3) and investigating their electrochemical performance. Various analytical techniques, including XRD, FT-IR, SEM, and EDX, were employed to analyze the produced materials. The electrochemical performance was evaluated using CV, GCD, and EIS, and it was found that MnO2/ZnO (5:5) exhibited the highest specific capacitance of 277.5 F/g at a current density of 0.3A/g and an energy density of 24.66 Wh/kg at a power density of 49.06 KW/kg, indicating its promising potential for supercapacitor devices.

Facile hydrothermal synthesis of α-MnO2 and δ-MnO2 for pseudocapacitor applications

Ekaterina A. Arkhipova et al.

Summary: In this study, the electrochemical performances of hydrothermally treated α-MnO2 and δ-MnO2 were compared. The results showed that δ-MnO2 had a higher specific capacitance than α-MnO2, attributed to its layered structure and pseudocapacitance behavior. Additionally, δ-MnO2 exhibited high electrochemical stability, making it a suitable electrode material for pseudocapacitors.
