Surface Defect Suppression for High Color Purity Light-Emitting Diode of Free-Standing Single-Crystal Perovskite Film

Lutao Li et al.

Summary: High color purity is an important feature for single-crystal metal halide perovskite light-emitting diodes (LEDs). However, the absence of effective surface defect passivation hinders the achievement of high color purity in single-crystal perovskite LEDs. In this study, a fully wrapped structure using ultra-thin polymethyl methacrylate is proposed to passivate the surface of free-standing CsPbBr3 single-crystal films, leading to improved color purity and large luminescent area. The interaction between the C(sic)O bond in polymer chains and the Lewis acid PbBr2 is found to play a key role in surface passivation.

Perovskite light-emitting diodes with solution-processed MoO3 films as the hole-transport layers

Doudou Liang et al.

Summary: In this study, MoO3 was used as the hole-transporting layer (HTLs) in perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) to replace PEDOT:PSS, achieving high-performance PeLEDs. Smooth and uniform MoO3 HTLs were fabricated using a solution-processing spin-coating method. The MoO3-based device achieved a maximum external quantum efficiency of 3.8%, equivalent to the PEDOT:PSS-based device. Furthermore, PeLEDs with MoO3 as the HTLs exhibited better shelf stability compared to the PEDOT:PSS counterpart.

Young-Hoon Kim et al.

Summary: In this study, highly efficient large-area PeLEDs with high uniformity were achieved through the use of colloidal perovskite nanocrystals. The precrystallized PNCs were not affected by the film formation process and a modified bar-coating method facilitated the formation of uniform large-area films. This method shows promise for the development of large-scale industrial displays and solid-state lighting.

Wafer-scale monolithic integration of full-colour micro-LED display using MoS2 transistor

Sumin Hwangbo et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel fabrication method for the integration of transition metal dichalcogenides with compound semiconductors, which is compatible with a batch microfabrication process. The authors demonstrate the synthesis of a thin film of molybdenum disulfide on a gallium-nitride-based epitaxial wafer, which is then used to form a thin film transistor array. This transistor array is subsequently integrated with micro-light-emitting-diode devices to create an active matrix micro-LED display. The authors also show a simple approach for obtaining red and green colors through the printing of quantum dots on a blue micro-LED, enabling the scalable fabrication of full-color micro-LED displays.

Highly Efficient Vacuum-Evaporated CsPbBr3 Perovskite Light-Emitting Diodes with an Electrical Conductivity Enhanced PolymerAssisted Passivation Layer

Nakyung Kim et al.

Summary: Efficient vacuum-deposited CsPbBr3 perovskite light emitting diodes (PeLEDs) are achieved by introducing a separate polyethylene oxide (PEO) passivation layer. The enhancement in photoluminescence quantum yield intensity is attributed to the passivation of interfacial defects of the perovskite by the PEO layer. Doping PEO layers with MgCl2 solves the issue of PEO's electrically insulating nature, resulting in enhanced luminance and external quantum efficiency (EQE).

Summary: Various large-area growth methods have been developed for two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides, but have not been used for synthesizing active pixel image sensors. An active pixel image sensor array with bilayer MoS2 film was successfully prepared and exhibited high photoresponsivity. The main mechanism for the high photoresponsivity of bilayer MoS2 phototransistors is attributed to a photo-gating effect by holes trapped at subgap states.
