Alkaline Media Regulated NiFe-LDH-Based Nickel-Iron Phosphides toward Robust Overall Water Splitting

Summary: In this study, a high-efficient bifunctional nickel-iron phosphide catalyst with a 3D coral-like nanostructure was successfully constructed for overall water splitting. Boosting Charge Transport in BiVO4 Photoanode for Solar Water Oxidation

Summary: The ability to regulate charge separation is crucial for high efficiency in solar fuel production. By engineering bismuth vacancies and using a new deep eutectic solvent, the charge diffusion coefficient of BiVO4 photoanode can be significantly increased, resulting in improved charge transport efficiency. Loading a cocatalyst further enhances charge transfer efficiency and increases the photocurrent density.

Summary: The efficient cobalt-phosphate decorated TiO2-Cu2O heterojunction photoanode was successfully prepared using hydrothermal and electrodeposition methods, and characterized by various techniques. The optimized Cu2O layer and further modification with a co-catalyst on the TiO2Cu2O heterojunction photoanode showed significant enhancement in photocurrent density.

Facile morphology control strategy to enhance charge separation efficiency of Mo:BiVO4 photoanodes for efficient photoelectrochemical water splitting

Summary: A nanostructuring strategy was proposed to enhance the PEC performance of Mo:BiVO4 photoanodes by varying the molecular weight of PEG. The control of grain and pore sizes of Mo:BiVO4 was shown to improve charge separation efficiency and achieve a high photocurrent density. This study provides new insights on a simple approach to enhance the PEC performance of nanostructured Mo:BiVO4 photoanodes.

Enhancing the Photoelectrochemical Water Oxidation Activity of α-Fe2O3 Thin Film Photoanode by Employing rGO as Electron Transfer Mediator and NiFe-LDH as Cocatalyst

Summary: In this study, a alpha-Fe2O3/rGO/NiFe-LDH composite photoanode was designed to enhance the photoelectrochemical water oxidation activity. The rGO nanosheets acted as an efficient electron transfer mediator, while the NiFe-LDH provided additional active sites for accelerating water oxidation kinetics. The composite photoanode achieved a significant increase in photocurrent density at 1.23 V-RHE, demonstrating the synergistic effect between rGO and NiFe-LDH for efficient and stable PEC water splitting.
