Rethinking authentic assessment: work, well-being, and society

Capturing student feedback literacy using reflective logs

Summary: First-year university students need to develop feedback literacy in order to make use of the multitude of feedback opportunities, as the emphasis at university is mainly on independent learning. Reflective logs were used in this study to capture first-year engineering students' most impactful feedback experiences, demonstrating their value in providing insight into students' feedback literacy. The study found a significant association between the reflection level and the presence of different feedback literacy characteristics.
