Aerosol particle depolarization ratio at 1565nm measured with a Halo Doppler lidar

Summary: The study investigates the capabilities of Halo Photonics Streamline Doppler lidars to retrieve the particle linear depolarization ratio at the 1565 nm wavelength and compares the observations with another lidar system. It finds that for mineral-dust-dominated cases the depolarization ratio at 1565 nm is typically slightly lower than at shorter wavelengths, but for dust mixed with other aerosol types it is higher. The results also show a marginally lower depolarization ratio for polluted marine aerosol at 1565 nm compared to shorter wavelengths.
