Human health risk assessment for exposure to heavy metals in finfish and shellfish from a tropical estuary

Summary: This investigation examined the levels of heavy metal concentrations in fish and shellfish from a tropical estuary and evaluated the associated human health risks. The results showed that some heavy metals exceeded the guideline values, but the risks were still within acceptable limits for both adults and children.

The Safety Assessment of Toxic Metals in Commonly Used Herbs, Spices, Tea, and Coffee in Poland

Summary: The study aimed to determine the level of heavy metal contamination in various plant materials, with lead being the most accumulated element and mercury having the lowest concentration. Higher levels of contamination were found in herbs and spices compared to tea and coffee samples. Only a small percentage of herbal samples exceeded the heavy metal limits set by the World Health Organization.
