Dynamic digital capabilities and supply chain resilience: The role of government effectiveness

Rameshwar Dubey et al.

Summary: Organizations are investing in supply chain resilience to cope with disruptions caused by natural disasters, geopolitical crises, and pandemics. The lack of government support has worsened supply chain disruptions in some regions. Digitalization has a positive impact on social inclusion, government accountability, and creating an open environment. However, countries have shown varying degrees of digital responsiveness during the pandemic. This study examines the effect of government support effectiveness and digital capabilities on supply chain resilience using a multi-method approach.

Impact of supply chain digitalization on supply chain resilience and performance: A multi-mediation model

Nanyang Zhao et al.

Summary: The outbreak of COVID-19 has accelerated the development of resilient supply chains, and it is recognized that supply chain digitalization plays a crucial role in achieving this goal. However, there is a need for more empirical studies to explore how digitalization can enhance supply chain resilience and performance in uncertain environments. This study proposes a theoretical model based on dynamic capability theory, examining the relationships among supply chain digitalization, resilience, and performance. The findings highlight the different impacts of absorptive capability, response capability, and recovery capability on supply chain performance, and the mediating role of these capabilities between digitalization and performance. The study also identifies the specific paths through which digitalization and resilience can improve supply chain performance in turbulent environments.

What theory is-A late reply to Sutton and Staw 1995

Peter Kesting

Summary: Theory plays a central role in management science research and its contribution is crucial for evaluation. However, the lack of clarity surrounding the theory concept leads to imprecise and arbitrary judgments. The discussion of theory in management science lacks a solid foundation in the philosophy of science. This article explores some research findings and discusses the concepts of explanation and theory based on them, critically questioning Sutton and Staw's notion of theory providing a logical explanation for causal relationships formulated in hypotheses.

A fuzzy rule-based industry 4.0 maturity model for operations and supply chain management

Rodrigo Goyannes Gusmao Caiado et al.

Summary: Industry 4.0 aims to integrate disruptive technologies with manufacturing systems, and maturity models are valuable methodologies to track the progress of these initiatives. However, there is a lack of empirical work on the development of I4.0 maturity models specific to supply chain management. This study develops a fuzzy logic-based I4.0 maturity model for OSCM, validated through a real application in a multinational manufacturing organization, providing a practical diagnostic tool for measuring digital readiness in manufacturing industries.
