Nonlinear multispectral tomographic absorption deflection spectroscopy based on Bayesian estimation for spatially resolved multiparameter measurement in methane flame exhaust

Zhitian Niu et al.

Summary: This paper presents a nonlinear multispectral tomographic absorption deflection spectroscopy (MTADS) technique based on Bayesian inference, aiming to predict temperature and gas concentration in aerospace propulsion systems with high temperature, pressure, and distortion. The technique combines a forward model, which considers inhomogeneous refractive index gradient and laser deflection, with an inverse model to improve measurement accuracy and robustness. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of MTADS in quantitatively measuring flame topology and parameter distribution.

Three-dimensional inhomogeneous temperature tomography of confined-space flame coupled with wall radiation effect by instantaneous light field

Zhitian Niu et al.

Summary: Optical tomography is a powerful tool for measuring the dynamic characteristics of turbulent flames, but previous research lacked the study of wall reflections and temperature influences. This study analyzes the effect of wall radiation on photothermal information and reconstructs flame temperature with wall radiation. The proposed ATSIR method improves reconstruction quality and provides valuable insights for the safety design of combustion chambers and fuel utilization.

A novel parametric level set method coupled with Tikhonov regularization for tomographic laser absorption reconstruction

Zhi-Tian Niu et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a method of tomographic laser absorption reconstruction based on laser absorption spectroscopy to obtain temperature and concentration distribution images in the combustion chamber. A novel algorithm, combining the Gaussian parametric level set method and regularized Landweber, is proposed to address the ill-posedness of the tomographic inverse problem, resulting in enhanced reconstruction quality and robustness.

Nonlinear Acoustic Tomography for Measuring the Temperature and Velocity Fields by Using the Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy Algorithm

Juqi Zhang et al.

Summary: This study simultaneously reconstructs temperature and velocity fields using nonlinear acoustic tomography and the covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy algorithm, considering the refraction effect of sound waves. By introducing the fast two-point ray-tracing algorithm and Tikhonov regularization as a constraint, the problem of sparse measurement signals caused by limited space and curved acoustic paths is addressed. The influence of velocity and temperature regularization parameters on simultaneous visualization of temperature and velocity fields is investigated, and efficient selection strategies for these parameters are proposed. The feasibility and effectiveness of the CMA-ES algorithm in simultaneous reconstruction of velocity and temperature fields are confirmed by solving the highly nonlinear and ill-posed inverse problem of NAT.

Acoustic tomography of temperature and velocity fields by using the radial basis function and alternating direction method of multipliers

Juqi Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a combined meshfree radial basis function and alternating direction method of multipliers (RBF-ADMM) is employed to simultaneously visualize the temperature and velocity fields while considering the acoustic refraction effect. The proposed method effectively solves the inverse acoustic tomographic problem in low Mach number and demonstrates feasibility and effectiveness in reconstructing temperature and velocity fields under various complex environments. The method provides crucial input for optimizing thermal fluid and combustion processes in control systems.

Modified accelerate iteration for optical property reconstruction based on time-domain radiative transfer equation

Fang-Zhou Zhao et al.

Summary: An improved diffusion synthetic acceleration method combined with the finite element method and parallel technology was proposed to accelerate TD-RTE calculations. The application of sequential quadratic programming algorithm and regularization technique allowed for simultaneous reconstruction of absorption and scattering parameter fields. The model showed increased efficiency with higher optical thickness, significantly reducing reconstruction time and improving image quality.
