Investigation of aluminum nitride nanocarrier for drug delivery process of Favipiravir: A DFT study

Mahmoud A. A. Ibrahim et al.

Summary: This study reveals the strong adsorption tendency of the Al12N12 nanocarrier towards the anti-COVID-19 drug Favipiravir. The geometric and electronic properties of the nanocarrier, drug, and their complexes were evaluated in gas and water phases. The adsorption process was found to involve significant changes in molecular orbital distributions and hardness/softness. The adsorption process was thermodynamically favorable and exothermic in water. Compared to the B12N12 analog, the Al12N12 nanocarrier showed higher favorability for the adsorption of Favipiravir. These findings provide a basis for further research on the Al12N12 nanocarrier and the delivery of the FPV anti-COVID-19 drug.

Predicting adsorption behavior of Triacanthine anticancer drug with pure B12N12 nano-cage: A theoretical study

Hooriye Yahyaei et al.

Summary: The adsorption behavior of the TRC anticancer drug on the B12N12 nano-cage surface was studied using DFT and TD-DFT methods. The adsorption energies of the TRC-B12N12 complexes showed that the adsorption process is exothermic. UV/Vis absorption and IR spectra analysis revealed the changes occurring during the adsorption of TRC on the nano-cage. NBO analysis showed charge transfer between the TRC drug and B12N12 nano-cage, and the N9 atom on the nano-cage exhibited the most chemical stability.

DFT and TD-DFT study of adsorption behavior of Zejula drug on surface of the B12N12 nanocluster

Ebrahim Balali et al.

Summary: The adsorption behavior of Zejula drug on the surface of B12N12 nanocluster has been studied using quantum calculations. The results show that the adsorption leads to higher electrical conductivity and charge transfer. Theoretical calculations also reveal a bathochromic shift in the spectra of Zejula/B12N12 complexes and confirm the dominance of electrostatic interactions. These findings suggest that B12N12 nanocluster has potential as a drug delivery system.

Summary: This research investigated the interaction between chlormethine (CM) anticancer drug and X3O-B12N12 nano-cages (X = Li, Na, K) using the DFT method. It was found that the most stable complex is formed through the adsorption of CM drug through the nitrogen atom with the boron atom of Li3O-B12N12 nano-cage. The study provides insights into the adsorption effects and the mechanism of interaction between drug and nano-cage through analyzing bond lengths, electronic properties, dipole moment, spectra, and charge transfer.

DFT and TD-DFT studies of halogens adsorption on cobalt-doped porphyrin: Effect of the external electric field

H. M. Badran et al.

Summary: DFT and TD-DFT calculations were used to investigate the adsorption of halogen atoms and molecules on cobalt-doped porphyrin, with consideration of an external static electric field. It was found that the adsorption process, as well as UV-Vis spectra, are influenced by the external electric field. Positive EF enhances adsorption energy and decreases HOMO-LUMO gap, while negative EF has the opposite effect. The study suggests that cobalt-doped porphyrin may serve as a potential sensor for halogen atoms and molecules.
