Reinforced PTFE composites with atomized powder of Inconel 625 alloy for sealing application: Study of structural properties and molecular dynamics simulation

Hamid Daneshmand et al.

Summary: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is widely used for sealing applications but has poor wear resistance. Adding suitable fillers as reinforcements can significantly improve the sealing properties of PTFE. In this study, atomized powder of Inconel 625 alloy was used to fabricate a PTFE-based composite, and the effect of different weight percentages of Inconel 625 on wear, corrosion, and leak rate properties was investigated. The results showed that the composite with 50% Inconel 625 and 50% PTFE exhibited the best combination of properties, making it suitable for industrial sealing applications.

Preparing metallic bulk samples for transmission electron microscopy analysis via laser ablation in an acidic liquid

Mohammad Jafari Eskandari et al.

Summary: The laser ablation process is an advanced method for removing surface layers of metallic bulk materials with high accuracy and speed. This study prepared a pure aluminum sample using laser ablation in an acidic liquid condition and compared it with the standard jet electro-polishing method. The results showed that the laser ablation process maintained the crystal structure of the aluminum sample without significant damage.

Polyurethane acrylate/multiwall carbon nanotube composites as temperature and gas sensors: Fabrication, characterization, and simulation

Iraj Hasanzadeh et al.

Summary: In this study, polyurethane acrylate/multiwall carbon nanotube nanocomposites were prepared and characterized for potential applications in printable semiconductors. The dispersion and structure of the nanocomposites were investigated, and their electrical conductivity property was studied as a function of temperature. The nanocomposites showed good dispersion and structure and exhibited a linear relationship between electrical conductivity and MWCNTs quantity. Furthermore, the nanocomposites were found to have potential applications as temperature sensors and gas sensors.
