FANCI is Associated with Poor Prognosis and Immune Infiltration in Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Yibo Hou et al.

Summary: The study validates FANCI as a potential marker for prognosis and therapy in liver hepatocellular carcinoma. FANCI expression is significantly higher in LIHC tissues compared to adjacent tissues, and it is positively correlated with cancer grade, stage, and prior HBV infection. High expression of FANCI is associated with poor prognosis in LIHC. Genes positively correlated with FANCI are involved in various pathways including the cell cycle, VEGF pathway, immune system processes, and biogenesis of ribonucleoproteins. MCM10, TPX2, PRC1, and KIF11 are identified as key genes closely related to FANCI and poor prognosis. FANCI expression is positively correlated with tumor-infiltration levels of CD8+ T cells, B cells, Tregs, Th2, and macrophage M2 cells.

Effects of lipid based Multiple Micronutrients Supplement on the birth outcome of underweight pre-eclamptic women: A randomized clinical trial

Nabila Sher Mohammad et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of lipid-based nutritional supplements on maternal and fetal outcomes of pre-eclampsia. The results showed that the addition of lipid-based nutritional supplements improved the birth weight, gestational age, head circumference, and birth length of babies born to underweight pre-eclamptic women.

MITF in Normal Melanocytes, Cutaneous and Uveal Melanoma: A Delicate Balance

Maria Chiara Gelmi et al.

Summary: Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) is an important regulator of melanogenesis and melanocyte development. It plays a dual role in promoting local proliferation and inhibiting invasion and inflammation in melanocytic cells, and loss of MITF expression is associated with increased invasion and poor prognosis. MITF also switches between high and low states in different phases of tumour development.

UBE2T regulates FANCI monoubiquitination to promote NSCLC progression by activating EMT

Jiguang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study explored the role and mechanism of FANCI in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The results showed that FANCI expression was higher in NSCLC tumor tissues compared to adjacent tissues. Knockdown of FANCI inhibited cell proliferation, migration, invasion, cell cycle and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in vitro. The study also found that FANCI was monoubiquitinated by UBE2T to regulate cell growth, migration and EMT through WDR48. These findings suggest that FANCI could be used as a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for NSCLC.

Focal Point of Fanconi Anemia Signaling

Sudong Zhan et al.

Summary: Fanconi Anemia (FA) is a genetic disease with the largest number of health complications in human organ systems, highlighting the important roles played by FA genes in maintaining human health. The FA signaling network, comprised of FA proteins and other non-FA proteins, is crucial for easing cellular stresses and protecting humans from diseases such as aging and cancer, with the FA D2 group protein (FANCD2) serving as the focal point of FA signaling.

Global cancer statistics 2020: GLOBOCAN estimates of incidence and mortality worldwide for 36 cancers in 185 countries

Hyuna Sung et al.

Summary: The global cancer burden in 2020 saw an estimated 19.3 million new cancer cases and almost 10.0 million cancer deaths. Female breast cancer surpassed lung cancer as the most commonly diagnosed cancer, while lung cancer remained the leading cause of cancer death. These trends are expected to rise in 2040, with transitioning countries experiencing a larger increase compared to transitioned countries due to demographic changes and risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy. Efforts to improve cancer prevention measures and provision of cancer care in transitioning countries will be crucial for global cancer control.

miRNA-218/FANCI is associated with metastasis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma: a bioinformatics analysis

Guanchao Ye et al.

Summary: This study found that miR-218 negatively regulates FANCI and FANCI may promote metastasis in LUAD through interacting with extracellular matrix receptors, leading to poor prognosis. The expression of FANCI is associated with clinicopathological characteristics and patient prognosis in LUAD, suggesting it may be a key gene for metastasis and poor prognosis in these patients. Changes in immune microenvironment could be the mechanism through which FANCI affects prognosis in LUAD.
