Consumer adoption study for innovative technology products and services in an emerging economy

Anshu Sharma et al.

Summary: This study aims to explore the adoption behaviour of consumers towards innovative technology products and services (ITPS). A qualitative study using semi-structured in-depth interviews was conducted with 47 respondents to understand their experiences with 50+ ITPS. The study found that triggers for adoption, hesitancies during evaluation, and factors that help in overcoming the hesitancies are important in the adoption process. Innovators must understand customer triggers and design offerings accordingly, while also addressing hesitancies through factors like word of mouth and de-risking schemes.
