Exploring the nature and variation of the stigma associated with loneliness

Summary: This study investigates the social stigma of loneliness using data from The British Broadcasting Corporation Loneliness Experiment, focusing on gender, age, and cultural individualism. A social exclusion perspective on loneliness in older adults in the Nordic countries

Summary: This study examines the associations between social exclusion indicators and loneliness in older adults in four Nordic countries. The results show that lower frequency of social contacts and living alone are consistently associated with higher levels of loneliness in all countries, while other indicators such as lower neighbourhood safety, income concern, and no emotional support are associated with loneliness in specific countries. The findings suggest that social exclusion is an important factor in understanding and addressing loneliness.

Increasing Social Connectedness for Underserved Older Adults Living With Depression: A Pre-Post Evaluation of PEARLS
