Development and potential use of Pseudomonas plecoglossicida mutant AOmpRArpoS as a live attenuated vaccine against visceral white nodules disease in large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea)

Liangyin He et al.

Summary: A live attenuated Pseudomonas plecoglossicida mutant, constructed by knocking out the OmpR and rpoS genes, showed no significant difference in growth kinetics compared to the wild-type strain. The mutant strain exhibited a 1.17 x 107-fold decrease in virulence in the large yellow croaker and provided a relative percent survival of 72.25% and 64.90% at 4 and 6 weeks post-initial vaccination, respectively. This mutant strain is a promising candidate for a live attenuated vaccine against P. plecoglossicida infection.

Polyactin A and CpG enhance inactivated Pseudomonas plecoglossicida vaccine potency in large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea)

Wenwen Wang et al.

Summary: An inactivated vaccine incorporating polyactin, CpGriched plasmid and aluminum adjuvant was developed, showing a relative percentage survival of up to 64% against Pseudomonas plecoglossicida. However, the vaccine combination did not exhibit the strongest activation of humoral immune response, but was more likely to induce a cellular immune response.

Research progress and prospects for the use of aptamers in aquaculture biosecurity

Qing Yu et al.

Summary: The review discusses the application of aptamers in aquaculture biosecurity, focusing on their role in rapid diagnostic assays and therapeutic agents against aquatic pathogens. Aptamers, as artificial antibodies, offer high specificity and affinity in recognizing targets, enabling the development of sensitive biosensors for pathogen detection and potential use in cell biomarker identification.
