Multicriteria sorting method based on global and local search for supplier segmentation

Felipe Barrera et al.

Summary: The aim of this research is to develop a robust multicriteria method for classifying suppliers into ordered categories and validate it in real contexts. The proposed technique is based on the PROMETHEE method using net flows and incorporates global and local search concepts. The results are compared to those from other sorting algorithms and validated using real supplier evaluation data. It also introduces an extension of the silhouette concept to measure the quality of ordered classes. The practical approach can be easily integrated into decision support systems for automated decisions in supply chain management.

Integrated Model for Predicting Supply Chain Risk Through Machine Learning Algorithms

Saureng Kumar et al.

Summary: The machine learning model is crucial in supply chain management, and the ISCOR model is used to evaluate supply chain risk. Various steps including data preprocessing, feature extraction, and missing value replacement are taken, and algorithms such as SVM, k-NN, RF, DT, and MLR are used to predict supply chain risk. The random forest algorithm achieves high accuracy and superior results with precision, recall, and F-score of 0.99 and 1% error rate, indicating its effectiveness in identifying supply chain risk.

Modeling customer satisfaction through online reviews: A FlowSort group decision model under probabilistic linguistic settings

Adjei Peter Darko et al.

Summary: Modeling customer satisfaction from online customer reviews is important for service providers. In this study, a probabilistic linguistic group decision (PLGD)-FlowSort methodology was developed to measure customer satisfaction. The methodology used Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic model to extract customer satisfaction dimensions from reviews and employed the SOM clustering technique for customer segmentation. The sentiment scores of the reviews were analyzed using an unsupervised machine learning algorithm, and the weight information of segments and dimensions were objectively determined using the probabilistic linguistic (PL)-projection method and probabilistic linguistic-correlation coefficient standard deviation (PL-CCSD) method. The proposed methodology was applied to a case of measuring customer satisfaction towards mobile payments in Ghana and showed robustness.

LRFMV: An efficient customer segmentation model for superstores

Rezwana Mahfuza et al.

Summary: The RFM model is a popular and widely used business model for determining beneficial client segments and analyzing profit. The LRFM model adds a length dimension to increase accuracy. However, the relationship between profit and purchased quantity has not been investigated. This study proposes the LRFMV model, which adds a volume dimension to show a direct profit-quantity relationship in customer segmentation.

Customer stratification theory and value evaluation-analysis based on improved RFM model

Yi Zong et al.

Summary: By adopting the K-mean clustering method and adding a new evaluation dimension of Cost to Service (CTS), the RFMC model is built to provide more comprehensive evaluation on customer value, improving the original RFM model. The results show that the addition of CTS significantly changes the clustering results of the original RFM model, with the overall consideration of consumption amount and CTS truly reflecting customer value.

A linguistic multi-criteria decision making methodology for the evaluation of tourist services considering customer opinion value

Itzcoatl Bueno et al.

Summary: The exponential growth in online data has led to a radical transformation in the tourism sector. Decision makers can benefit or be harmed by the large amount of information available, which can impact their satisfaction after purchase. A methodology integrating multiple decision-making techniques was proposed to rank hotels based on past client opinions, using the Recency, Frequency, Helpfulness model and a fuzzy linguistic approach. This methodology was verified through a business case applied to TripAdvisor data.
