Green extraction of bioactive compounds from apple pomace by ultrasound assisted natural deep eutectic solvent extraction: Optimisation, comparison and bioactivity

Summary: This study evaluated natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) coupled with ultrasound assisted extraction (UAE) as extraction techniques for bioactive compounds from apple pomace. Seven different NADES were explored as green extraction solvents, and DES1, DES2, and DES5 showed better extraction efficiency than conventional solvents. The optimized processing parameters for UAE-DES were sonication time of 40 min, water content of 30%, solid/liquid ratio of 1:30, temperature of 40°C, acoustic intensity of 83.2 W/cm2, and duty cycle of 75%. The main polyphenol compound in the optimized extract was quercetin, followed by chlorogenic acid, gallic acid, phloretin, phloridizin, and rutin.

Optimization of tannin extraction from coconut coir through response surface methodology

Optimization and Modelling of EGR rate and MIS for POME fuelled CRDI diesel engine

The optimal extraction parameters resulted in the highest total flavonoid content and antioxidant power, which were comparable to the experimental results. Efficient Extraction of an Anthraquinone Physcion Using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) Optimized Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction Method from Aerial Parts of Senna occidentalis and Analysis by HPLC-UV

The experimental yield of physcion closely matched the predicted value, validating the fitness of the employed model and the success of the optimization process. This optimized extraction condition can be applied in the extraction of physcion from herbal supplements containing S. occidentalis.
