How adolescents' popularity perceptions change: Measuring interactions between popularity and friendship networks

Trajectories of defending behaviors: Longitudinal association with normative and social adjustment and self-perceived popularity

Summary: This study used a longitudinal design to identify four defending trajectories and compare the differences between them. The results showed that adolescents in the stable-high defending group had the highest levels of normative and social adjustment, as well as self-perceived popularity. Adolescents in the decrease defending group experienced a decrease in normative adjustment over time, while those in the increase defending group saw an increase in social adjustment and self-perceived popularity. Adolescents in the stable-low defending group had consistently low levels of normative and social adjustment, as well as self-perceived popularity.

Friendship selection and influence processes for popularity in early and mid-adolescents
