Langevin picture of anomalous diffusion processes in expanding medium

Xudong Wang et al.

Summary: This article focuses on the dynamic mechanism of anomalous diffusion in an expanding medium using the framework of the Langevin equation. It reveals that different changing rates and the particle's intrinsic diffusion behavior lead to different diffusion phenomena.

Ergodic property of random diffusivity system with trapping events

Xudong Wang et al.

Summary: A recent observation in many biological and active matter systems is the occurrence of a Brownian yet non-Gaussian phenomenon. This paper proposes the main idea of introducing a random diffusivity in an inhomogeneous environment to explain this phenomenon, and utilizes a Langevin system to describe particle motion in complex media. By deriving the general expressions of ensemble- and time-averaged mean-squared displacements, as well as obtaining the analytical expressions of the ergodicity breaking parameter and probability density function of the time-averaged mean-squared displacement for specific time-dependent diffusivity, the results indicate the nonergodicity of the random diffusivity model with any type of diffusivity, including the critical case of normal diffusion.

Levy-walk-like Langevin dynamics affected by a time-dependent force

Yao Chen et al.

Summary: In this paper, a Langevin system coupled with a subordinator is established to describe the Levy walk in a time-dependent periodic force field. The effects of external force on particle position are detected and carefully analyzed. Additionally, a generalized Klein-Kramers equation is obtained for both time-dependent and space-dependent forces.
