Investigation of frequency and temperature dependence on dielectric properties of cobalt zinc sulfide compounds prepared by co-precipitation route

V. Laxminarasimha Rao et al.

Summary: The Co-Precipitation technique was used to synthesize CoxZn1-xS ternary compounds. Samples were analyzed for their AC conductivity between 30 degrees C and 300 degrees C, in the frequency range of 50 Hz to 20 MHz. The results showed that the AC conductivity of the samples correlated with the CBH model, exhibiting a decreasing trend with increasing frequency, and remaining more or less constant at higher frequencies. The dielectric constant increased with temperature and cobalt concentration, reaching higher values at lower frequencies. Comparison of the samples' dielectric loss values revealed a consistent trend with the dielectric constant value. This research investigated phenomena thought to be caused by cobalt interstitial defects resulting from the introduction of cobalt ions into zinc sulfide.

Improving photocatalytic activity of the ZnS QDs via lanthanide doping and photosensitizing with GO and g-C3N4 for degradation of an azo dye and bisphenol-A under visible light irradiation

Ali Reza Amani-Ghadim et al.

Summary: Inserting Gd ions into the crystalline lattice of ZnS quantum dots (QDs) enhanced their photo-catalytic activity. The influence of graphene oxide (GO) and graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) on the photocatalytic activity of the ZnS QDs was also investigated. The results showed that the presence of Gd-doped ZnS QDs/g-C3N4 nanocomposite achieved the highest photocatalytic degradation efficiency and total organic carbon removal.

Sunlight-Driven Photocatalytic Degradation of Ciprofloxacin by Carbon Dots Embedded in ZnO Nanostructures

Indrani Mukherjee et al.

Summary: Surface modification of ZnO nanoparticles with carbon dots (CDs) resulted in the formation of ZnO/CD nanocomposites, which exhibited enhanced photocatalytic degradation of ciprofloxacin under sunlight. The improved degradation rate was attributed to enhanced generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inhibited charge carrier recombination facilitated by the CDs. The ZnO/CD nanocomposites showed stability and efficiency in repeated cycles of operation, making them promising for environmental remediation applications.
