Investigations on Cutting Force and Temperature Field of Pick Cutter Based on Single Factor and Orthogonal Test Methods

Summary: In this study, the stress and temperature fields of pick cutters with different structural parameters were investigated using an extended finite element model. The results showed that the cutting force and maximum temperature were greatly influenced by structural and working parameters. The reliability of the numerical simulation was validated through a lab-scale linear cutting test. Optimum cutting parameters combination was obtained for reducing cutting force and temperature.

Discrete element method study of parameter optimization and particle mixing behaviour in a soil mixer

Summary: The mixing behavior of soil particles in a mixer is simulated using the discrete element method, and an orthogonal experiment is conducted to optimize the mixer design. The results show that the optimal parameter combination for a uniform mix is 280 rpm fly-cutter speed, 40 rpm spindle speed, 4 blades, and 250 mm fly-cutter diameter. The study also investigates the impact of soil cohesion and type on mixing behavior.

Experimental study on forced ventilation and dust -control in a heading face based on response surface method

By conducting experimental research and using the response surface method, the air flow distribution in the roadway was adjusted to effectively reduce dust concentration. Optimal Discrete Element Parameters for Black Soil Based on Multi-Objective Total Evaluation Normalized-Response Surface Method

Summary: The lack of accurate parameters for the black soil simulation model hampers the development of soil remediation equipment. By using a multi-indicator total evaluation normalization method and response surface method, a set of optimized discrete element contact parameters was found to represent different particle sizes and minimize errors. The results show that after normalization, the errors of each particle size's parameter combination reduced by 0.745%, providing reference value for the design and optimization of soil remediation equipment.
