Predictive Factors for Outcomes of Overcorrection Nighttime Bracing in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis: A Systematic Review

Vahideh Moradi et al.

Summary: For AIS patients, greater curve flexibility and a higher Risser sign are associated with success in overcorrection nighttime bracing treatment, while premenarchal status may lead to failure in nighttime bracing treatment.

Is nighttime bracing effective in the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis? A meta-analysis and systematic review based on scoliosis research society guidelines

Abdul Fettah Buyuk et al.

Summary: Nighttime bracing may be equally effective as full-time bracing for AIS patients, especially for those with thoracolumbar/lumbar curves and who start wearing the brace at Risser 1/2. The conclusions are limited by sample size and study quality.

Which interventions may improve bracing compliance in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis? A systematic review and meta-analysis

Xue Li et al.

Summary: This review analyzed the effects of interventions in improving bracing compliance among adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients. The analysis showed that compliance-enhancing interventions may increase the hours of brace wearing, with sensor monitoring being the most promising approach. However, the limited evidence calls for future well-designed randomized controlled trials to confirm the actual benefit of these interventions in clinical practice.

Does Bracing Control the Progression of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis in Curves Higher Than 40?? A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis br

Taher Babaee et al.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis examined the effectiveness of bracing in treating adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) curves exceeding 40 degrees and explored predictive factors associated with brace effectiveness. The results showed that bracing can effectively control curve progression, and there are several risk factors associated with brace effectiveness.

Physiotherapy Interventions for Preventing Spinal Curve Progression in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis: A Systematic Review

Tabish Fahim et al.

Summary: This systematic review aimed to present and synthesize therapeutic advice and evidence on the efficacy of physiotherapy exercises for preventing the growth of spinal curvature caused by adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. The results showed that an exercise regimen of at least seven weeks can effectively lower the Cobb angle in patients with AIS. Additionally, combining different techniques and treatment methods may lead to better treatment outcomes.

The Effectiveness of Different Concepts of Bracing in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS): A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Lorenzo Costa et al.

Summary: Brace treatment is the most common noninvasive treatment for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, but there may be differences in effectiveness between different types/concepts of braces. Most brace studies have significant risk of bias, with rigid braces showing higher success rates and being more effective for patients at Risser 0-2 and 0-3 stages of maturation.

Summary: The short-term effect of bracing treatment combined with scoliosis-specific exercises is better than that of treatment with brace and scoliosis-specific exercises, among the three common conservative treatments of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Evaluation of night-time bracing efficacy in the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: a systematic review

Alberto Ruffilli et al.

Summary: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the efficacy of night-time bracing compared to traditional full-time thoraco-lumbo-sacral orthoses in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients. However, the current literature does not provide conclusive evidence on the effectiveness of night-time braces due to limitations in study quality. Future well-designed clinical trials are needed to better understand the role of night-time orthosis in treating adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
