A novel strategy for the study on molecular mechanism of prostate injury induced by 4,4′-sulfonyldiphenol based on network toxicology analysis

Shujun Huang

Summary: The study identified 208 potential targets associated with 4,4'-sulfonyldiphenol (BPS) exposure and prostate injury using databases such as ChEMBL, STITCH, and GeneCards. Through network screening, 21 core targets including AKT1, EGFR, and MAPK3 were determined. Gene ontology and KEGG pathway analysis revealed that the potential targets of BPS were enriched in cancer signaling pathways and calcium signaling pathways. These findings suggest that BPS actively participates in prostate injury by regulating cancer cell apoptosis and proliferation, activating inflammatory signaling pathways, and modulating prostate adipocytes and fibroblasts.

The immunomodulatory role of exosomal microRNA networks in the crosstalk between tumor-associated myeloid-derived suppressor cells and tumor cells

Elham Shokati et al.

Summary: MDSCs have been shown to play a role in tumor progression and metastasis in the tumor microenvironment by downregulating anti-tumor immune responses. Exosomal miRNAs released by MDSCs and tumor cells mediate the immunosuppressive characteristics of MDSCs, but their role in MDSCs differentiation and function in the tumor microenvironment requires further investigation.

CRNDE mediated hnRNPA2B1 stability facilitates nuclear export and translation of KRAS in colorectal cancer

Ya Lu et al.

Summary: The CRNDE/hnRNPA2B1 axis is highly expressed in colorectal cancer (CRC) and is strongly associated with poor prognosis. This axis not only promotes CRC cell proliferation and metastasis, but also maintains the stability of hnRNPA2B1 protein by inhibiting its degradation. Additionally, it facilitates the nucleocytoplasmic transport and translation of KRAS mRNA, ultimately activating the MAPK signaling pathway and accelerating the malignant progression of CRC.

Integrated Bioinformatics Analysis of the Hub Genes Involved in Irinotecan Resistance in Colorectal Cancer

Jakub Kryczka et al.

Summary: Different drug combinations, including irinotecan, are important in treating colorectal cancer (CRC). However, chemotherapy often leads to drug resistance. This study compared mRNA expression profiles of CRC cell lines and patient samples to select new candidate genes for irinotecan resistance. The results showed that in vitro models have limitations and cannot fully reflect the complex drug resistance network observed in patients.

The Role of Tumor Microenvironment in Cancer Metastasis: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutic Opportunities

Christiana M. Neophytou et al.

Summary: The tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a crucial role in cancer progression, influencing tumor aggressiveness, dissemination, and immune evasion. Interactions between cellular and structural TME components enable cancer cells to invade and spread, and the extracellular matrix (ECM) also affects cancer cell migration and therapy response. Current and future strategies aim to target these components to block metastasis.

Overexpression of NOP58 as a Prognostic Marker in Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A TCGA Data-Based Analysis

Jinpo Wang et al.

Summary: NOP58 is significantly overexpressed in HCC tissues and is associated with high tumor stage, advanced pathologic stage, advanced histologic stage, vascular invasion, poor performance status, and Mut-TP53 status. Elevated NOP58 expression is correlated with poor disease-specific survival, progression-free interval, and overall survival. GSEA reveals enrichment of various cell cycle pathways, RB-1 pathway, interleukin-10 signaling, regulation of TP53 activity, and P53 downstream pathway in the NOP58 high expression phenotype. NOP58 expression is positively correlated with levels of T helper type 2 cells.
