Flexible Electrospun PVDF Piezoelectric Nanogenerators with Electrospray-Deposited Graphene Electrodes

oemer Faruk uensal et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the development of piezoelectric nanogenerators using poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) nanofibers and graphene-based flexible electrodes. The electrospray deposition (ESD) technique is used to coat the PVDF nanofiber surface with graphene oxide (GO) which is then reduced to increase electrical conductivity. The nanogenerators produced higher voltages when graphene electrodes were thicker, indicating a direct relationship between electrode morphology and output voltage.

Review of Zinc Oxide Piezoelectric Nanogenerators: Piezoelectric Properties, Composite Structures and Power Output

Neelesh Bhadwal et al.

Summary: Lead-containing piezoelectric materials have high energy conversion efficiencies but are limited by their toxicity. In their bulk form, lead-free piezoelectric materials have lower properties, but at the nano scale, they can have significantly larger properties. This review focuses on ZnO nanostructures as lead-free piezoelectric materials for use in piezoelectric nanogenerators, specifically the Neodymium-doped ZnO nanorods (NRs). The review also examines different composite structures of ZnO PENGs and presents techniques to increase their power output, with the vertically aligned ZnO nanowire (NWs) PENG showing the highest power output.

The effect of collector parameters on nanofiber yarns produced by electro yarn spinning machine with conical collector

Fatma Goktepe et al.

Summary: In this study, electrospun yarns were produced using different polymers and types of collectors, and the effects of various parameters on yarn quality were analyzed. The results showed that yarns produced with aluminium collectors were finer and stronger, and there were differences in fineness and tensile strength between yarns produced with different polymers.

Smart Film Based on Polylactic Acid, Modified with Polyaniline/ZnO/CuO: Investigation of Physicochemical Properties and Its Use of Intelligent Packaging of Orange Juice

Parisa Abdolsattari et al.

Summary: The study showed that polyaniline, zinc oxide, and copper oxide significantly enhanced the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of the polylactic acid film. Polyaniline imparted good electrical conductivity to the film, while zinc oxide and copper oxide had minimal effect on it. The active film used for orange juice packaging improved the chemical and microbial viability of the juice.

Effect of ZnO particle size on piezoelectric nanogenerators and mechanical energy harvesting

Kebena Gebeyehu Motora et al.

Summary: With the increasing demand for green and renewable energy, piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs) are being developed for the next generation of wearable energy supplies. This study focuses on synthesizing a PVDF@ZnO PENG device with varying particle sizes of ZnO and studying its piezoelectric properties. The incorporation of ZnO nanoparticles greatly enhances the piezoelectric response of PVDF, with the device containing large-particle ZnO showing the best performance under compression.

Holistic investigation of the electrospinning parameters for high percentage of β- phase in PVDF nanofibers

Rahul Kumar Singh et al.

Summary: PVDF is a piezoelectric polymer with five phases, with the beta-phase contributing the most to its piezoelectricity. Researchers commonly use electrospinning to develop PVDF nanofibers-based sensors, with spinning distance found to have the most significant impact on the percentage of beta-phase. Other important parameters affecting the beta-phase percentage include the electric field, drum speed, and solution flow rate. By optimizing these parameters and developing sensors on a flexible substrate, the study achieved the highest voltage output from sensors made with 1 hour of electrospinning. This systematic study can be applied to optimize nanofiber properties in any electrospinning set-up.

Detection of Authentication of Milk by Nanostructure Conducting Polypyrrole-ZnO

Sajad Pirsa et al.

Summary: A micro-scale smart gas sensor based on PPy-ZnO fiber was developed for rapid detection of volatile compounds used as adulterants in milk. The sensor's response was affected by the concentrations of NaClO, H2CO3, citric acid, and NaHCO3, showing a linear relationship with the concentration of adulterants. The detection procedure was simple and fast, with a total time of 7 minutes.
