Non-monotonic behavior of the Binder parameter in discrete spin systems

Hiroshi Watanabe et al.

Summary: We study the non-monotonic behavior of the Binder parameter in discrete spin systems. Binder parameters of the Potts model are non-monotonic for q = 3 and 4, while they are monotonic for the Ising case (q = 2). The non-monotonic behavior originates from the low-temperature term, which can be reduced by appropriately defining the order parameter.

Tensor-network renormalization approach to the q-state clock model

Guanrong Li et al.

Summary: In this study, we simulate the phase diagram and critical behavior of the q-state clock model on the square lattice using the state-of-the-art loop-TNR algorithm. We accurately determine the phase transition points and calculate the conformal scaling dimensions to determine the radius R of the compactified boson theories. We find that the high temperature phase transition point aligns with the BKT transition prediction.

Bond-weighted tensor renormalization group

Daiki Adachi et al.

Summary: The BTRG algorithm improves upon the traditional TRG by introducing bond weights in the tensor network, achieving better performance with similar computation time. BTRG can also yield nontrivial fixed-point tensors at optimal hyperparameters and maintain invariant singular value spectrum during renormalization, showcasing high accuracy in tensor contraction while preserving scale-invariant tensor structure.

Numerical transfer matrix study of frustrated next-nearest-neighbor Ising models on square lattices

Yi Hu et al.

Summary: The paper discusses the use of the exact numerical transfer matrix (TM) method to study Ising models with frustrated next-nearest-neighbor interactions. By extending the method to various frustrated models, high-accuracy TM numerics help clarify physical ambiguities and provide a clearer overview of phase formation in two dimensions.

Tensor network simulation for the frustrated J1-J2 Ising model on the square lattice

Hong Li et al.

Summary: Using extensive tensor network calculations, the phase diagram of the frustrated J(1) -J(2) Ising model on the square lattice is mapped out in detail. Focus is placed on cases with controversy, such as the stripe transition. The simulations suggest that any potential first-order region may be smaller than previously thought. Evidence is provided regarding the transition of the classical J(1) -J(2) model evolving continuously into the tricritical Ising class.
