1-Year Outcomes of Blinded Physiological Assessment of Residual Ischemia After Successful PCI DEFINE PCI Trial

Manesh R. Patel et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify the post-PCI target value of iFR that would best discriminate clinical events at 1 year. The results showed that post-PCI iFR >= 0.95 was associated with a reduction in cardiac events and improved 1-year event-free survival.

Post-stenting fractional flow reserve vs coronary angiography for optimization of percutaneous coronary intervention (TARGET-FFR)

Damien Collison et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of a post-PCI FFR-guided optimization strategy compared to standard coronary angiography in achieving final post-PCI FFR values >= 0.90. While the FFR-guided optimization strategy did not significantly increase the proportion of patients with final FFR >= 0.90, it did significantly reduce the proportion of patients with final FFR <= 0.80.

Clinical and Prognostic Impact From Objective Analysis of Post-Angioplasty Fractional Flow Reserve Pullback

Seung Hun Lee et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical implications of residual FFR gradient after successful PCI, and found that objective analysis using dFFR(t)/dt improved classification agreement on the presence of the major residual FFR gradient among operators. Patients with a major residual FFR gradient had a higher risk of target vessel failure at 2 years.

Post-stenting fractional flow reserve vs coronary angiography for optimization of percutaneous coronary intervention (TARGET-FFR)

Damien Collison et al.

Summary: The TARGET-FFR trial examined the importance of FFR value >= 0.90 after PCI, finding that an FFR-guided optimization strategy did not significantly increase this proportion, but did reduce the proportion of patients with FFR value <= 0.80.
