miR-483-3p Promotes IL-33 Production from Fibroblast-Like Synoviocytes by Regulating ERK Signaling in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Kailin Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that miR-483-3p promotes the expression of IL-33 in RA fibroblast-like synoviocytes by regulating the ERK signaling pathway, which suggests miR-483-3p may be a potential effective target for rheumatoid arthritis treatment.

The Interaction between microRNAs and the Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling Pathway in Osteoarthritis

Xiaobin Shang et al.

Summary: Osteoarthritis is a chronic disease that lacks disease-modifying treatment, with the Wnt/beta-catenin pathway playing a key role in its pathophysiology. Both excessive stimulation and suppression of this pathway can contribute to the development of OA. MicroRNAs have been found to regulate various cellular processes in different diseases, offering potential insights for the development of miRNA-based therapeutics for OA.

Influences of the lncRNA TUG1-miRNA-34a-5p network on fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs) dysfunction in rheumatoid arthritis through targeting the lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA)

Mei Zhang et al.

Summary: This study revealed the critical roles and molecular mechanisms of TUG1 in regulating the glucose metabolism and apoptosis of fibroblast-like synoviocytes in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) via modulation of the miR-34a-5p-LDHA pathway. Silencing TUG1 suppressed FLSs-RA invasion, migration, glucose metabolism, and increased apoptosis, indicating that TUG1 plays a key role in the development of RA.

ZFAS1 knockdown inhibits ?broblast-like synoviocyte proliferation, migration, invasion and inflammation, and promotes apoptosis via miR-3926/FSTL1 in rheumatoid arthritis

Qiang Wang et al.

Summary: In rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ZFAS1 and FSTL1 are upregulated while miR-3926 is downregulated. ZFAS1 knockdown inhibits proliferation, migration, invasion, and inflammatory cytokine production in RA-FLS and induces apoptosis. ZFAS1 acts as a sponge for miR-3926 to abolish its effects, and FSTL1 is a direct target of miR-3926 in regulating RA-FLS progression.

CircMAPK9 promotes the progression of fibroblast-like synoviocytes in rheumatoid arthritis via the miR-140-3p/PPM1A axis

Zhihuan Luo et al.

Summary: The study found that circMAPK9 and PPM1A were upregulated and miR-140-3p was downregulated in RA patients and RA-FLSs. Silencing circMAPK9 suppressed cell proliferation, migration, invasion, inflammatory response, and promoted apoptosis in RA-FLSs. CircMAPK9 could regulate PPM1A expression by sponging miR-140-3p, offering a new mechanism for understanding RA development and potential treatment with circMAPK9.
