Jingfang Granule alleviates bleomycin-induced acute lung injury via CD200-CD200R immunoregulatory pathway

Ke Lv et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of Jingfang granules on acute lung injury and its mechanisms. The results showed that Jingfang granules can attenuate pulmonary injury and inflammation by reducing the recruitment and activation of alveolar macrophages through the CD200-CD200R immunoregulatory signal axis. This provides an experimental basis for the clinical application of Jingfang granules in COVID-19.

Inhibition of calpain reduces cell apoptosis by suppressing mitochondrial fission in acute viral myocarditis

Hui Shi et al.

Summary: This study showed that CVB3 infection led to VMC by impairing mitochondrial function, inducing cardiomyocyte apoptosis and myocardial damage, and reducing heart function. These effects were attenuated by calpain inhibition. The abnormal mitochondrial fission induced by CVB3 infection was regulated by calpain through affecting the accumulation of Drp-1 in mitochondria.

Exosomal circ-CACNG2 promotes cardiomyocyte apoptosis in multiple myeloma via modulating miR-197-3p/caspase3 axis

Manya Yu et al.

Summary: This study found that exosomes secreted by multiple myeloma (MM) can partially inhibit cardiomyocyte viability and promote apoptosis by regulating the circ-CACNG2/miR-197-3p/caspase3 pathway. circ-CACNG2 was identified as an independent prognostic and diagnostic indicator of MM-related cardiac complications.

TMBIM6 (transmembrane BAX inhibitor motif containing 6) enhances autophagy through regulation of lysosomal calcium

Hyun-Kyoung Kim et al.

Summary: TMBIM6 enhances autophagy by increasing lysosomal Ca2+ release and subsequently activating TFEB, leading to enhanced lysosome biogenesis to alleviate metabolism stress. Genetic inactivation of TMBIM6 reduces lysosomal Ca2+ and TFEB nuclear translocation, resulting in increased autophagy flux. TMBIM6, an ER membrane protein, is suggested to be a lysosomal Ca2+ modulator that coordinates with autophagy to alleviate metabolism stress.

Summary: Adaptogens are herbal medicinal and nutritional products promoting adaptability and survival in living organisms. They have pharmacologically pleiotropic effects on the neuroendocrine-immune system and exhibit a biphasic dose-effect response. Further research focusing on discovering new combinations of adaptogens and potential synergistic effects is needed to explore their full potential in treating stress and aging-related diseases.
