Association between dietary related factors and central obesity among married women: China Health and Nutrition Survey

Lingling Cui et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that factors such as aging, intake of fast food, and lower per capita annual income were positively associated with a higher prevalence of central obesity, while higher levels of dietary knowledge and food preferences were negatively correlated with central obesity. These findings suggest that nutrition education programs should be implemented to promote healthy dietary habits.

Does dietary knowledge affect household food waste in the developing economy of China?

Shi Min et al.

Summary: Based on the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS) data from 2004, 2006, and 2009, this study used a fixed-effects model to show that the dietary knowledge of household food decision makers has a significant impact on household food waste and calorie loss, and this impact seems to decrease with local community development. Additionally, heterogeneous impacts of dietary knowledge on food waste and calorie loss were observed in urban and rural areas and among different income groups.

Summary: This paper discusses the ways to improve the welfare of women living with HIV by providing nutritional support and participatory information interventions.
