AC magnetic susceptibility of nanocomposites with Co-Pd particles

Olga V. Nemytova et al.

Summary: The frequency and magnetic field dependences of the dynamic AC susceptibility in nanocomposites based on opal matrixes with Co and Pd particles were studied. The differential DC susceptibility was found to be similar to the dynamic AC susceptibility measured at 1 Hz, but different from the susceptibility measured at higher frequencies. Three relaxation times were calculated using the Cole-Cole formula for samples with hexagonal Co and metallic Pd. The field dependences of the differential DC susceptibility were different from the field dependences of the dynamic AC susceptibility measured at frequencies of 10, 100 Hz and 1 kHz.

Superspinglass state in functionalized zeolite 5A-maghemite nanoparticles

Juan A. Ramos-Guivar et al.

Summary: The study investigated the structural, vibrational, and magnetic properties of maghemite nanoparticles functionalized with zeolite 5A. The research found strong bindings between hydrated surface groups of zeolite 5A and maghemite nanoparticles, leading to concentrated regions with strong interparticle interactions. These interactions resulted in a superspin glass-like behavior in all samples with transition temperatures located at 74 and 208 K.

Magnetic Nanoparticle Composites: Synergistic Effects and Applications

Stefanos Mourdikoudis et al.

Summary: Composite materials are formed by combining two or more materials with different properties to create a new material with unique characteristics. Nanocomposites consist of at least one material with nanoscale dimensions. The synergistic effects of combining different materials in nanocomposites lead to enhanced properties, benefiting applications such as magnetically separable catalysts and biomedicine.

AC Susceptibility Studies under DC Fields in Superspinglass Nanomaghemite-Multiwall Carbon Nanotube Hybrid

Juan A. Ramos-Guivar et al.

Summary: The magnetic properties of maghemite nanoparticles grown on activated multiwall carbon nanotubes were studied, revealing the formation of a superspin glass state. The presence of highly concentrated magnetic regions due to the multiwall carbon nanotubes favored the appearance of the superspin glass state.
