Adopting a ?move? rather than a ?marker? approach to metadiscourse: A taxonomy for spoken student presentations

Authorial presence in research article abstracts: A diachronic investigation of the use of first person pronouns

Co-authors tend to intrude into abstracts more frequently than single authors, with both types of authors concealing their presence in the 2010s. The use of personal pronouns in abstracts exhibits significant diachronic variations, with low-stakes functions favored over high-stakes ones.
