A Vanadium-Based Nanoplatform Synergizing Ferroptotic-like Therapy with Glucose Metabolism Intervention for Enhanced Cancer Cell Death and Antitumor Immunity

Yu Zhang et al.

Summary: This study proposes an enhanced ferroptosis-activating pattern by regulating tumor cells' glycometabolism and constructs a nanoplatform named PMVL using lonidamine-loaded tannic acid coordinated vanadium oxides with the camouflage of PD-L1 inhibiting peptide-modified tumor cell membrane. The mixed valence of vanadium in PMVL triggers ferroptosis and depletes glutathione, while lonidamine strengthens ferroptosis by suppressing glycolysis and the pentose phosphate pathway. This research provides opportunities and possibilities for synergistic cancer therapy by enhancing ferroptosis and boosting immunity.

An electrochemical biosensor for the assessment of tumor immunotherapy based on the detection of immune checkpoint protein programmed death ligand-1

Xin Du et al.

Summary: This study establishes an electrochemical biosensor for the detection of PD-L1 levels in tumors. The biosensor, based on molybdenum disulfide and multi-wall carbon nanotubes, utilizes a dual optical and electrochemical label. It successfully detects PD-L1 differences in diverse tumor cell types, tumors derived from mice or cancer patients, and performs reliably in both buffer solution and serum.
