Brain activity when viewing personalized videos showed higher activations in DMN sub-components, ventral tegmental area, lateral prefrontal, anterior thalamus, and cerebellum. Stronger coupling between DMN subregions and neural pathways related to auditory and visual processing, as well as the frontoparietal network, suggests how recommendation algorithms can capture users' attention to suggested contents.

Differential associations between types of social media use and university students' non-suicidal self-injury and suicidal behavior

The relationship between social media use and fear of missing out: A meta-analysis

Summary: The relationship between social media use and fear of missing out is complex and studies have shown mixed results. While there is a significant positive correlation between the two variables, the strength of this relationship is influenced by indicators of social media use and the specific platforms used. Social media addiction in particular was found to have the strongest correlation with fear of missing out. Longitudinal studies are recommended to further explore the dynamic nature of this relationship in the future.
