Pathophysiological Considerations in Periorbital Necrotizing Fasciitis: A Case Report

Summary: Periorbital necrotizing fasciitis (PNF) is a rare complication of bacterial infection that leads to irreversible inflammatory destruction of soft tissues. Prompt identification and decisive interventions are crucial due to the rapid progression and potentially fatal consequences. We report a case of PNF caused by dual infection with Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus. Treatment with intravenous antibiotics and regular surgical debridements resulted in a beneficial outcome.
