Gravitational waves and neutrino oscillations in Chern-Simons axion gravity

Summary: This study investigates the modifications in neutrino flavor oscillations under the influence of a stochastic gravitational wave background, assuming General Relativity is modified by an additional Chern-Simons term. The results show that the CS coupling modifies the pattern of neutrino flavor oscillations at Earth and leads to a total suppression in some frequency range. Additionally, the stochastic gravitational wave background in the halo may stimulate axion decay into gravitons, resulting in a potentially detectable resonance peak in the enhanced SGWB strain.

On the flavor/mass dichotomy for mixed neutrinos: a phenomenologically motivated analysis based on lepton charge conservation in neutron decay

Summary: In this study, the controversial flavor/mass dichotomy for mixed fields is explored by considering the mixing of neutrinos and computing the transition amplitude of neutron beta-decay. The calculations are done using three different representations of neutrino states and the conservation of lepton charge in the interaction vertex is invoked. The results show that only the framework based on QFT states is consistent with the underlying theory, while the other two frameworks contradict it. This finding is a crucial step towards understanding the role of neutrino mixing in weak decays and contributes to elucidating the flavor/mass controversy in QFT.

Boson mixing and flavor vacuum in the expanding Universe: A possible candidate for the dark energy

Summary: We analyze the boson mixing in curved spacetime and compute the expectation value of the energy-momentum tensor of bosons on the flavor vacuum in spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker metrics. We show that the energy-momentum tensor of the flavor vacuum behaves as the effective energy-momentum tensor of a perfect fluid. The results here presented show that vacuum of mixed bosons like neutrino super-partners, can represent a possible component of the dark energy of the Universe.

No-signaling-in-time as a condition for macrorealism: the case of neutrino oscillations

Summary: We investigate two necessary and sufficient conditions for macrorealism, namely no-signaling-in-time and arrow-of-time conditions, in the context of neutrino flavor transitions using both the plane wave description and the wave packet approach. We then compare our findings with the implications of various formulations of Leggett-Garg inequalities. Our results show that the fulfillment of the addressed conditions for macrorealism in neutrino oscillations implies the fulfillment of the Leggett-Garg inequalities, but not vice versa. Additionally, within the framework of the wave packet approach, we demonstrate that the no-signaling-in-time condition is always violated for distances longer than the coherence length, while the Leggett-Garg inequalities are not.

Neutrino oscillations in the interaction picture

Summary: We study the mixing of different types of fields (scalar in 0+1D, scalar in 3+1D, fermion in 3+1D) by treating the mixing term as an interaction. Using the perturbative series in the interaction picture, we find that the expression for flavor changing probability exhibits corrections compared to the usual quantum mechanical oscillation formula, in agreement with previous results obtained using the non-perturbative flavor Fock space approach.

Monogamy properties of quantum correlations in neutrino oscillations

It is found that the squared entanglement of formation and squared quantum discord satisfy the monogamy relations, while the monogamy relation for geometric quantum discord is fulfilled in the three-flavor neutrino system.

Dark energy and neutrino superfluids
