Oral health providers' views of oral health promotion in Jazan, Saudi Arabia: a qualitative study

Summary: This study aimed to explore the views of oral health providers in Jazan, Saudi Arabia on their responsibilities for oral health promotion. The results showed that while providers recognized the importance of oral health promotion, they faced barriers such as lack of training, funding, time, and interest. Opportunities for improvement included increasing recruitment of providers, developing training programs, and providing more support.

Summary: Mothers of preschool children with low socioeconomic status in Bangladesh have poor awareness of caries preventive behaviors and suboptimal oral health practices for their children. The plaque score seems to be the only oral health factor that increases the risk of ECC among children in this low socioeconomic population.
